APPLICATION INFORMATION
Simply mix both components in the Hull Pro can, and start applying! You only need a foam tipping brush to apply your Hull Pro PWC kit to either your jet ski, keel, or lower units. Do not use a roller, as it will absorb too much of the material. We recommend using a Sherwin William foam tipping brush for application!
CARE & MAINTENANCE
If you take care of your Hull Pro-coated hull, our formulation takes care of you. Regular maintenance and cleaning are still recommended on your boat or pontoon, and your cleaning frequency will depend on your water type and your growth rate. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
We’ve collected some of the most frequently asked questions about Hull Pro. Below are some of the most commonly asked questions about our product, application, and care and maintenance.
How does Hull Pro work?
Our 2-part clear, nano-formulation creates an ultra-smooth barrier on your hull. Its durable epoxy formulation creates a protective barrier between your hull and the water. The ultra-smooth finish of Hull Pro decreases vessel drag, meaning you can see an increase in speed, and a decrease in fuel consumption. It is not an antifouling paint, which means regular maintenance is still required. Contact us to determine if Hull Pro is suitable for you.
What are the application conditions for Hull Pro to be applied properly?
The surface should be completely dry and not have any trapped moisture. The application temperature of the air and the substrate should be between 41-95°F (5-35°C) and the temperature of the hull should be at least 5° higher than the dew point. You can check your dew point and surface temperature by using a handheld infrared thermometer.
We recommend starting the application process in the morning to give the coating enough time to dry and cure before the sun goes down and temperatures begin to cool.
NOTE: If the above conditions are not met, Hull Pro will not lay out properly on the surface. If you’re unsure, please contact us prior to application. We’re here to help!
How much Hull Pro do I need to cover my vessel?
Please refer to this page for Hull Pro coverage.
How long does Hull Pro last, and how often do I need to reapply?
With the proper care, Hull Pro can protect your vessel for up to 2 years without reapplication. If your vessel is knocking against the dock or you do see some scuffs or damage, you can touch up Hull Pro by sanding around the area and applying another coat of Hull Pro. Remember, you’ll have to wait 24 hours for your touch-up to dry, and 48 hours for Hull Pro to be fully cured after application (72 hours total) before you relaunch your vessel.
How long after application until I can launch my vessel?
Hull Pro cures in 24 hours. We recommend waiting the full 24 hours prior to moving vessel (depending on temperature and humidity). Vessel immersion / launch time is 48 hours post-curing (72 hours post-application).
Can I power wash my vessel after applying Hull Pro?
Absolutely. A good power washing can help remove stubborn and hard growth. We recommend using a 2500-3500 PSI gas power washer.
How often do I need to clean my vessel after applying Hull Pro?
Everyone’s water type will differ. It’s important for you to check with your marina to understand growth rate and patterns for your water type. Hull Pro is a fouling-release formula and will require regular maintenance. We recommend you check our POST-APPLICATION CARE GUIDE for our recommended tools and tips for keeping Hull Pro looking its best on your hull, and for keeping your vessel protected. Maintenance with Hull Pro is as simple as a dive and scrub, a power-wash or a gentle cleaning with a silicone scraper and white 3M scouring pad.
How can I remove Hull Pro from my vessel?
To remove Hull Pro, you would need to fully sand it down to the bare substrate.
